Connected apps and assistants

Your assistant can already invent a recipe. What it cannot invent is your kitchen: what is in your library, what is planned this week, what is in the freezer, what is on the grocery list, what you actually ate. With PLUS, you can let the assistant you already use, or a service you trust, read that and act on it for you. It does the thinking; a quiet counter holds the data and takes the actions.

Connections are newly available and still being tested. If a connected app misbehaves, disconnect it under Profile, Connected apps, and tell us at [email protected].

What you can connect

• Claude (the desktop app): Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector.
• ChatGPT and other assistants that support connectors work the same way. Look for "connectors", "integrations" or "MCP servers" in their settings.
• A service you trust, such as a fitness or coaching app, if it offers a quiet counter as an integration.

Siri and Gemini on your phone are coming later, through the same connection.

How connecting works

• Start in the other app: add a quiet counter as a connector. The address to give it is https://agents.aquietcounter.com/mcp.
• A page from a quiet counter opens. Sign in with your usual account.
• The page lists, in plain words, exactly what that app is asking to do. Approve, or cancel.
• That is it. The connection appears in the app under Profile, Connected apps.

What a connection can be given

You approve some or all of these, and nothing beyond them:

• Read your saved recipes.
• Read your meal plan, kitchen stock and grocery list.
• Read your nutrition figures.
• Add and remove items on your grocery list.
• Schedule, move and remove meals on your plan.
• Save new recipes to your library.
• Log meals you have eaten.

A connection never receives your email address, your password, your subscription details, your Assistant conversations, or anyone else's data. If you are in a shared household, a connection you approve acts as you in the shared plan, in the same way you can.

Disconnecting

Open the app, go to Profile, then Connected apps. Every connection is listed with what it may do and when it last used that access. Disconnect any of them there. Disconnection takes effect within a minute and stops all future access; it cannot recall anything the app has already read.

If your PLUS subscription lapses

Connected apps lose access automatically and are told why. The connections stay listed, so if you resubscribe they start working again; there is nothing to reconnect. You can still disconnect them at any time while your subscription is lapsed.

What the other app does with your data

Once your data leaves a quiet counter, what the connected app does with it is covered by that app's own privacy policy, not the app's. Please read it before you approve. The app's side of the promise is in the Privacy Policy, section 11.

Something is not working

• "This needs a PLUS subscription." Connections are part of PLUS. Open the app and look for PLUS under Profile.
• "Connections are opening gradually." This appears while connections are switched off, or if we ever return to a staged opening. Nothing on your account has changed; please try again later.
• "This connection has used its allowance for today." Each connection has a generous daily allowance so a misbehaving app cannot run up the platform's bills. It resets at midnight, your local time.
• "Paused for unusual activity." A connection that went past its allowance seven days in a row is paused. Disconnect it and connect it again to resume.
