A meal planner for two, with a portion for each person
a quiet counter lets two people share one meal plan, one recipe library and one grocery list from their own phones. Each person has a usual portion, such as 1 for one of you and 1.5 for the bigger eater. A planned recipe shops for the whole recipe by default; switch on Scale for that meal and it shops for the people eating it instead.
Sharing and per-person portions come with a quiet counter plus (USD 49.99 a year), and one subscription covers the whole household.
How do two people share one plan?
- Each of you makes a free account, on Android or at app.aquietcounter.com.
- The one with a quiet counter plus opens Profile, then Household, and copies their share code.
- The other opens Profile, then Household, chooses Join household, and enters the code.
- Someone already in the household approves the request. From then on you plan, shop and cook from the same week.
Each account keeps its own personal data. A household can hold up to eight people with accounts.
How do per-person portions work?
Under Profile, Household, "Who you cook for" lists everyone you cook for, each with a portion: 1 is an ordinary serving, 0.5 is half, 1.5 is a bigger plate. You can add someone without an account, such as a child. By default a planned recipe goes onto the grocery list whole, so a 4-serving recipe buys all 4 servings and the rest is leftovers. Switch on Scale for that meal and it follows the people eating it instead: a 4-serving recipe for two people at 1 and 1.5 becomes 2.5 servings, and the grocery list asks for that much.

What if one of us is out?
Each planned meal has a Who's eating row with a chip for every person. Tap a name to move them to Not eating, or add a guest. Each person's nutrition figures change to match, and with Scale switched on, so do the meal's amounts and the grocery list.
What is free?
On your own, the planner, the grocery list, importing recipes from links, scaling a recipe and setting a household size are all free. Sharing a plan with someone else and setting a separate portion for each person come with a quiet counter plus. a quiet counter plus costs USD 49.99 a year or USD 5.20 a month, and your local price is shown before you confirm.
